Welcome!

I have been wanting to start a blog that can be all about my sewing creations, and now that I'm opening an Etsy shop I figure it's time to do it! Why "The Last Minute Boutique?" Well, that all started one Sunday morning when I was (once again) snipping the threads from a new dress for my little girl approximately 10 minutes before church started. When an idea hits me, I have to try it out NOW! As my husband watched me finish up, he said, "If you ever open a store, you have to call it The Last Minute Boutique."
I liked that- it sums up what I do perfectly! I have gotten totally swept up in the refashioning movement. I love to take discarded clothes, look at them in a new way, and give them a new life. This type of sewing is perfect for my
now Now NOW personality. I get professional seam finishes, pleats, buttons, and appliques built into my fabrics! I have the freedom to run wild with my creativity without stressing over how much the fabric I just cut into cost. If an idea doesn't work, I scrap it. If it does, I try it again, make a legit pattern, and tweak and perfect it. (I really am capable of spending time on a project- I just have to fall in love with it first!)
So there you go. I hope you enjoy seeing the results of my haphazard creative energy as much as I love taking pictures of it!
